Time to kick your salad up a notch with this homemade salad topper! It is SO good and adds the perfect crunch! Made with our honey and sriracha sauce… 🐝 🔥… you can’t go wrong with this mix of sweet and spicy!
Sweet & Spicy Salad Topper
Ingredients:
1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup raw slivered almonds
1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1 Tbsp chia seeds
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp honey
1-2 tsp (or more) sriracha sauce
Directions:
In a bowl, mix together the seeds and nuts. Set aside. In another small bowl, mix together the oil, honey and sriracha sauce. Pour the sauce over the seeds and nuts, and mix until everything is coated. Lay the mixture on a cookie sheet, and bake in the oven at 300 F for 15 minutes, stirring once halfway through. Remove from oven, and let the tray sit for about an hour, or until the mixture is dry. Sprinkle this topping on your favourite salad. Store in a glass jar.
Note: if you like a bit of heat, add more sriracha sauce. I used 1 tsp and it gave a hint of spice. You can use more if you’d like it a bit more spicy!
