This jam has just 3 ingredients and is so simple to make! It’s sweetened with our honey and thickened with chia seed – our family loves it! 🐝 This is a jam that lasts about 5-7 days in the fridge, so I like to make a big batch, and then freeze it in small jars. You can also modify the ingredients and make small batches just for when you need it, too!

🍓 Strawberry Chia Jam 🍓

🍓Ingredients

3 quarts of strawberries (about 12 cups)
1/2 cup of honey
1/2 cup of chia seed

🍓Directions

Remove the stems from the strawberries and give them a rough chop. Place them in a large saucepan and add the honey. Stir until combined. Turn the stove on medium heat and start to cook the strawberries. With a potato masher, mash the strawberries until you get to the consistency you like (we like chunks of strawberries in our jam, so we don’t mash too much). Cook for about 10-15 minutes, so the strawberries can soften up. Turn off the heat and stir in the chia seed. Let it sit for about 5 minutes and stir occasionally. Ladle the jam into jars (make sure you leave room at the top the jar for expansion when the jam freezes!). Label and freeze jars. Enjoy!

Notes: this jam does not contain any sugar or preservatives, so it will not store in a sealed jar in your pantry. I freeze the jam in small jars and take them out as I need them. Always keep an opened jar in the fridge and consume within 5-7 days.
