Our Roots

It all began in 1964 with Ann and Bill Marlin purchasing an apple orchard and farm property just east of Cornwall, Ontario. Originally, the property featured a hobby farm with a small roadside stand selling golden honey and delicious apples. Moving the apple stand to the farm property, the Marlins set out to build a garden centre and develop the land into what most of us know today as Marlin Orchards and Garden Centre. Even early on, they knew that the seeds they planted would grow into something very special.

A family focus on growth

Starting a new chapter, Ann and Bill began their retirement in the early 80’s, selling the family business to their daughter Diane and her husband George. Keeping up with the Marlin’s growing tradition, the Lunan family expanded the orchard, replanting with many new varieties of apples, pears and plums. The nursery and greenhouses were also expanded, along with adding a new refrigeration facility, grading room and retail store upgrades.

The tradition continues

Not one to pass up on family traditions, the whole Lunan family is active in the family business. Kris, Alexandra & Hannah all play an important role in the daily operations and the seasonal growth of the farm, orchard and garden centre. Without the dedication and support from their family and the experienced staff, Marlin Orchards could not have blossomed into the successful family business it is today.

“Planting deep roots over the last 45+ years, our 3rd generation farm has grown, in no small part, thanks to the community of customers and friends who have visited and supported us through the years.”

“From our family to yours, thanks for growing with us!”
